Prophecy is a gift God has given to the body of Christ. He wants every believer to prophesy for the edification, exhortation and comfort of the listeners. However, the ability to prophesy doesn’t make you a prophet. In this study, we will walk through 1 Corinthians 12, 13 and 14 to bring clarity to the difference between prophecy and the office of the prophet. In these chapters, Paul gives instructions on how to cooperate with the gifts of the Spirit in the public assembly. When operating according to the Scripture, the gift of prophecy will inspire Christians to live a life of love and victory.
